We tend to feel negative easily even we want to feel positive.
This seems ironic because most people think they treat themselves well; they eat healthy, and say they take care of themselves. Yet, thy also feel negative a lot of the time.
Dissatisfaction can take the form of feeling unworthy, empty, angry, bored with life, or simply restlessness for the next thing with the hidden hope that it’ll work permanently this time. Yet, no matter what we try, we never find the magic answer, the perfect solution, or the ability to accept ourselves without dissatisfaction clouding everything we experience.
This class will offer you some tools and skills to help you navigate the persistent, hollow, unsatisfied emotions in your body and the self-criticism that haunts your days. The key is navigating and managing your mind instead of fighting or avoiding the thoughts. This class will also help you learn the skills of compassionate mental navigation and mind management so you feel better about your days and your life.
Self-compassion comprises several skills bundled into one name. Those skills are Awareness, Acceptance, Letting Go, and Detachment. Generally, they are easier to learn with the support of other people experiencing similar feelings and situations. So, together, we will begin each session with a simple mind exercise and then build some new skills while learning from each other. We will discuss the triggers we experienced during the last week and their consequences on our life’s satisfaction. Then, I will end each session with a talk about new skills we can practice in the following week. The goal is to become aware of the triggers that precede the unnecessary suffering that we experience so we can use new skills to suffer less. I’ll end with a gentle daily exercise to help you practice so you can navigate each situation in your mind and daily life.
